Kenedy: You f****g bastard, you have no idea of the show, I bet, because the ANSWER is COPIED FROM ME. That's right, you're busted. I don't recommend for asker to choose him as best answer. Shawn Rescues Darth Vader
Does Chief Vick know Sean isn't really psychic? I've recently began re-watching Psych for like my 10th time and started thinking about this again. Obviously Gus and Henry know Sean's not Psych Does Shawn Hook Up Juliet a psychic. And throughout the show Juliet and eventually Carlton learn the truth. However Chief Vick never officials finds out but I've always had a sneaking suspicion that she's known the entire time. At the end of the Pilot when she has the talk with Henry about Sean's gift I've always felt like Henry told her the truth and she was just ok with the ruse as he was effective.
Does anyone else think she really knew the whole time or is she just the only main character to not find out the truth by the end of the show? I just rewatched a few scenes to verify my opinion, but I think she knows the entire time.
She's definitely skeptical in the pilot, that's why she calls Henry in. Then there's a scene in Season 6 where Lassie has Shawn hooked up to the polygraph machine, and asks if he's psychic. Out of all the people in the room, Chief Vick seems the most worried about what it will say when he answers.
That includes both Henry and Gus, who both know he's not and could be charged as accomplices. And after he answers and the machine says it's true, she very briefly has a smug look on her face, as if she knew the truth and that he beat it. In Season 7, Shawn attempts to come clean to her in order to regain Juliet's trust. Even though he doesn't finish, it's pretty clear what he's trying to say. She doesn't look even a little bit surprised.
Her face seems to be saying "No shit, now get of my office and never speak of this again. There are also other things Psych Does Shawn Hook Up Juliet the show that I think point to her knowing as well, I just can't recall them right now. I absolutely love that Polygraph scene. It is one of my favorite moments in the entire series.
I did initially take her look to be more of curiosity than anything else but I could see it both ways. I don't think Vick was necessarily told but I think she never believed it in the first place. She figured he was just silly and let him be sillly as long as it worked. Besides, him being "psychic" has been a valuable tool for him to get information and resources that he wouldn't be able to otherwise, and the go here doesn't want to take that tool away click here him and, by extension, her department.
I always took the "you know" line as the audience knowing and having that dramatic irony through the entire series. It could also mean Gus and Henry, who for sure know he's lying but not what I really thought of it.
#Psych - #Shules Best Moments
Juliet did not know. That's why she was so mad at Shawn. I know you know is perfect for lassie. He knows that Shawn isn't psychic but there is no way to disprove him. I think Vick knew he wasn't psychic, but didn't want to acknowledge it because then they wouldn't have Shane helping them as he would get arrested for trespassing and a crap ton of other stufd. Yea, I love the scene in From the Earth to the Starbucks where Lassie is drunk at the bar and pretty much says exactly that.
I always though Chief Vick just kind of turned a blind eye, I mean she was a new chief at the start of the series desperate for results, and Shawn provided them. He was a great cop. You're nothing like him" Maybe she knew about Henry's way of observation and assumed It Account I Deleting Without My Can Facebook Deactivate also had this 'gift'?
I've always felt she's known. The smirks and looks she has given have made it kind of obvious. However the one person who definitely never found out is Buzz. I assumed the conversation went as we were told in the pilot. Especially since it seems to be a character development between Henry and Shawn that Henry won't "cover for him" again.
There doesn't seem to be any implication that Henry did anything else but cover for Shawn. I am still watching through the show again so most of this is going off Psych Does Shawn Hook Up Juliet memories of the FIRST time I watched though, but part of the reason Juliet finding out is such a huge deal is not only because of the personal aspect Shawn has been keeping this huge secret from her and she feels betrayed After all, a lot of the cases he solved he had to commit crimes breaking and entering being a biggie in order to do it non-psychically.
The latter point is probably why Lassiter stops watching Shawn's goodbye video once he realizes Shawn is going to admit he's not a psychic. If Lassiter heard that he would be professionally obligated to bring Shawn up on some sort of charges or other This is the opposite to how he behaves in the pilot, where he is willing to do whatever it takes to expose Shawn. On a side note I think Psych Does Shawn Hook Up Juliet are great bookends to that relationship and that ending was extremely satisfying, not just because of Lassiter's respect for Shawn but that Shawn now respects Lassiter enough to want him to know the truth even if there could be consequences or because he knows Lassiter well enough to know there won't be?
At any rate I think Vick would be professionally obligated to do the same as Lassiter which is why I think she doesn't know.
Jules turns to Shawn who is sitting with his finger to his temples. As they kiss again and slip on to the couch. However, when Shawn goes to show them where he psychically "saw" the body, the body is not there. It is one of my favorite moments in the entire series.
The movie will likely make it more clear presumably Shawn is still doing his schtick in San Fran and we'll see Vick so Yeah, I feel like she has to know and is just keeping it to herself because of Carlton and that it's just an unspoken understanding. When Sean and Juliet are seeing each other and their secret relationship almost comes out, Vic clearly knows and doesn't want to be told because she knows she'd be obligated to do something about it.
Shows she's willing to draw a line between knowing and officially knowing. She also knows Sean is insanely useful so the last thing she wants is to actually be told because then she'd be forced to fire him and possibly have to reopen some cases.
Upon arrival at the Old Mission only minutes away they gain access to the bell towers and find a new message attached to one of the bells carefully remove it and retreat to inside the Mission to open it. He always knew, but he didn't want to know for sure, especially since he's chief at that point. Shawn searches the bedroom where he found the dead body. After all, a lot of the cases he solved he had to commit crimes breaking and entering being a biggie in order to do it non-psychically.
I think the same for Lassie destroying the cd in the finale. He always knew, but he didn't want to know for sure, especially since he's chief at that point. Hell, he says as much when Sean finds him drunk in the bar. Tells him he knows he's not psychic, but that he amazes him anyway.
I don't think Henry told her in that scene, but only because she asks him not to. There are potentially huge liability concerns that a Chief would have to make when using outside help. I could see her saying something that addresses source elephant in the room, but then suavely reframes the discussion.

I forgot about the scene when he attempts to come clean to her.
The lyrics in the theme even say it, I know you know. All her lines are definitely interesting to interpret as to whether she knew or not And they know that, specially lassie, since shawn's mom told him she has it. I think she knows but I'm not sure when she found out.
